Sandeep Marwah of Marwah Studios recently played host to the budding stars of Indian Cinema Sikandar Kher and Neha Uberoi whose maiden Hindi feature film “Woodstock Villa” is ready to hit the silver screen worldwide. Conceding that one hand it is helpful to be the offspring of actors, on the other hand this has raised the level of expectation from him by the viewing people. Woodstock Villa is indeed a film in the tradition of film noir and it has been brilliantly directed by the award winning director Hansal Meh he added. The former Indian Ambassador to USA and currently Chancellor of University of Hyderabad Dr. Abid Hussain Made a strong plea for benefiting from the wisdom of your ancestor contained in the holy scriptures. Quoting lucidly from blind beliefs and to develop the habit of questioning things. He urged the media to reach the un-reached and try to ameliorate their condition. Dr. Abid Hussain was addressing the new entrants to Asian Academy of Film & Television. Stating that India is indeed growing strong day by day, he urged the audience to be proud to be Indian.
Giving recipe for meaningful approach to work, the super cop Joginder Singh said that clear cut goals, hard work and preseverance are keys to success in life. Referring to the notable contribution to media made by the Director of Asian Academy of Film & Television Prof. Sandeep Marwah, the veteran social worker Om Veer remarked that whereas politics tend to divide people, films have the unusual power to unite them without discrimation of religion caste or language. | Himalaya’s different moods brought alive at AAFT |

International Film and Television Club, in association with Asian
Academy of Film & Television recently hosted an exhibition of paintings of the
Nationally acclaimed artist and muralist Deepa Seth Bhando at the Marwah Films and
Video Studios in Noida.
The exhibition was inaugurated by ace Bollywood personality Wg. Cdr. A S Bedi with
the Former President of Noida entrepreneurs association and managing editor,Models
and Trends,Anoop Bhandari as another guest of honour.Speaking on the occasion, Wg. Cdr. Bedi complimented the passionate zeal of IFTC chairperson, Prof Sandeep Marwah, for promoting all forms of art at the first available opportunity and showered the well
deserved praise Deepa's speaking landscapes of the Himalayas so opulently inviting. Anoop Bhandari compared the exhibition to a book and each painting to the individual article of the magazine.
The theme of the exhibition, exclaimed Deepa, " Was to highlight the beauty and
mystique's of the giant Himalayas. In all, about a dozen and a half of some of Deepa's best paintings were up on the walls for for this show that also became a launch pad for study of various media courses by the 59th batch of AAFT opened recently.
Thanking all the guests, Prof Marwah said that he had felt proud to be part of
Deepa's show explaining in his unique style how the two forms of making films or TV
programs and paintings; that do not move but yet speak with the same powerful force
were so well inter-related. |

The creative geniuses and performing artistes in the making at INIFD and AAFT worked hard to recently organize ADAA’ 08 The Fashion show of Gennext at Marwah Studios Complex in Noida Film City. While the INIFD students showcased their designs under contemporary, ethnic and creative categories, the students of AAFT participated as models in a largely attended glittering ramp show. Admiring the work of the students of the two renowned institutes Prof. Sandeep Marwah said that the dress makes or mars the appearance of a person and the offices and residences must not only meet the functional requirements but they should also be aesthetically pleasing. He commended the good work being done at INIFD to hone the skills of budding fashion designers and interior decorators. Ms. Jyoti Khera, Centre Director said that she is happy that the two elite institutes could bring out the talent in open. |

| AAFT & WINCHESTER UNIVERSITY COME TOGETHER IN MAKING MOVIES |
With the view of keeping the relationship strong and expanding the learning boundaries between the two esteemed institutions, a group of 13 students from Winchester University visited AAFT under the student exchange program. The group is here to make two of their graduation films with AAFT.
Mr. Sandeep Marwah, himself addressed the group and introduced them to Indian Cinema. The students were eager to observe a new culture and get glimpse of Indian Heritage during their visit. They had a walk around the campus and met the students of AAFT. Enthralled by the greenery and environment of the Film City, the students were all set & excited to start their films. |

| Film Educators Educate People about Disability through Films |

The major creed that India looks up to is films today. It believes what is shown and is rapt by the glamour. Films like “Taare zameen Par” leave their mark and a message so clear, that it’s our responsibility to bridge the gap between the upbringing of our kids & special kids. Keeping this in mind the biggest institution that has provided the media industry with 5000 media professionals, Asian Academy of Film & Television attempted to bring awareness on Disability through WeCare Film Festival. AAFT along with Brotherhood, an organization run by Satish Kapoor is working for several years intended for the welfare of the disabled, organized this festival to create awareness about people with various disabilities and how to help them become independent. The festival Received 47 films from all over the world, out of which four films of 1 min were previewed at the opening. “Media is a very powerful medium of communication. In India, films are the best channel to create awareness about disability.” said Sandeep Marwah, Director AAFT, who was present on the occasion as the guest of honor along with H.E. Mr. Mark Sofer , Ambassador, Embassy of Israel ,Subodh Lal, Film Educator, Dr. Sundeep Khanna, Addl. Sec. Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment, Philip O’Keefe , Lead Social Protection,World Bank , M.K Raina, Producer/Director & Satish kapoor, Director, Beotherhood. Dr. Sundeep Khanna expressed his desire to take the festival of films on disability all over the country, just to make India a better place for these people to live. The Man behind hit films like “Hanuman Returns”, “No Smoking”, “Black Friday”, “Paisa Vasool” , “Paanch” , “Nayak: The Real Hero” , ANURAG KASHYAP visited AAFT recently. The reason behind the planned visit of the famous Writer- Director of Bollywood was an interactive session with the students of AAFT. Giving a quality time for the tête-à-tête session, Anurag kashyap obliged the students. He patiently listened to their queries and anxiety related to Bollywood and answered each one of them. Sandeep Marwah thanked him for giving his valuable time and sharing his priceless experiences with the students. Asian Academy of Film & Television maintain its tradition of promoting Art, whether Film & television or Painting. It has given opportunities to many artistes via MEC Art Gallery. Sandeep Marwah , Director AAFT, inaugurated yet another painting exhibition as a guest of honor along with Chief Minister of Delhi Sheila Dixit in a recent event held at The Experimental art Gallery.
The Paintings based on the beauty of Himalayas & Nature were the works of the renowned artist Deepa Seth who is a Post Graduate in fine Arts. Sandeep Marwah found this exhibition unique and said,” These paintings are so authentic that each one of them takes me closer to Nature.” Adding up to the praise Shiela Dixit said that artist has shown the Nature beautifully. The occasion had generals from the Indian army with some other well known personalities. |

A Premiere Art and Media Academy of USA, The Academy of Art University joined hands with the Premiere Art and Media Academy of India, Asian Academy of Film & Television. With the visit of delegates from the Academy of Art University, Ms. Mia Kim & Ms. Sori Kim, an abiding rapport between two pioneer media educators was strengthen.
The two delegates came to India just to visit the Academy whose applause they have been listening back in USA. Impressed by the infrastructure and the quality of training given by the Academy, Ms. Mia Kim & Ms. Sori Kim spoke to the students about how difficult the media training is and that they were in the right place. A Product of Masters from Michigan University and a Doctor in Literature from Purdue University, Dr. Raman .K Singh took a workshop on Creative writing with the Students of AAFT. Already a visiting faculty with Virginia University and a writer, he had just finished writing a script named ‘OPPA’ for Famous Hollywood producer Elliott Castner, who has given hit films like, Where the Eagles Dare, The Night of the Following Day, Man, Woman and Child, Sweet November and many more…Talking to students at length, the writer gave students the modus operandi for scriptwriting.He also organized a premiere for his movie at the Campus as a part of the workshop. Catherine Ann Jones, an award winning playwright and screenwriter visited Marwah studios recently. Some of her award winning film include ‘ The Christmas Wife nominated for the best picture and best writing, Unlikely Angel , Angel Passing which went on to win fifteen awards in festivals all over the world. During her visit,the writer guided students of AAFT & ASMS on scriptwriting, narrated some of her works and taught them the art of writing. Dhoni fever filled Marwah studios when famous cricketer M.S. Dhoni visited studios for a shoot. Cricket fans were all going gaga over the young dynamic cricketer. AAFT and Deakin University, Australia instigated a student exchange program. A group of four students from Deakin University visited AAFT under this program. National School of Drama Director Devendra Raj Ankur inaugurated The first Drama Club of AAFT. Talking to students of Acting at length, Mr. Ankur shared some of his learning experiences at National School of Drama. He gave students a gist of necessary elements of acting and also told them how acting for Theatre, Television and Films is different. Stimulated by the session, the students had many queries allied to the topic, which were patiently answered by Mr. Ankur.

| Global Opening of a Global Event |
Global Festival of Films on Peace and Spirituality finally came into light. The Curtain raising ceremony of the Global event experienced a serene afternoon, reminding Indians of their own culture were the two Americans coming from Japan for the concert In AAFT and scheduled towards Europe... The couple Manuel and Bernice Roberto being great musicians, and extremely inspired by the Indian Culture and mythology... were seen deeply devoted to Lords Ram and Krishan... Chanting Sanskrit shlokas and Hindi bhajans, the couple made the atmosphere devout and pious. Spreading the message of peace through bhakti, they motivated the audience which included Top media personalities and ambassadors of peace and a large audience comprising of media students from different schools.
The one hour divine concert was not only a curtain raiser of the Global Festival of Films on Peace & Spirituality but also it opened eyes on the true meaning of spirituality. Both the guests were enchanted to see the effect of the bhajans on the students. Mr. Sandeep Marwah describing the event as truly Global said that it was beyond doubt an auspicious way to start an event.

Under the Indo-Welsh student exchange program, the second team that visited AAFT included Sound and music composition tutor Paschall de Paor (from the Creative and Cultural Industries faculty of the University of Glamorgan) with Carl Boland and Divakar Subranamiam, The Phd students from University of Glamorgan. Pascall de Paor was happy to see the state of Arts Audio studio & Equipments at Marwah studios. The three member team composed some incredible music with the musicians from AAFT which possibly will be included in the short films made by the students. The elite style of music composing inspired the students of AAFT .Mr. Sandeep Marwah, Director; AAFT & ASMS presented lifetime membership of International Film and Television Research centre to the Professor which elated the atmosphere even more. |

Director of Films like Chaalbaaz, Inteqaam, Tumko na bhool payenge and the latest traditional Banaras – A mystic Love story, Pankaj Parashar visited Marwah studios for a comprehensive conversation with the students on Filmmaking. All the films that he made touched diverse topics altogether, with so much of variations in his ideas the director had a lot of things in store for the young film makers. Pankaj Parashar during his chat shared with students not only his know-how but also what was missing in the current phase of filmmaking. | An Intellectual Professor’s Visit From Newport University, Wales to AAFT |
Professor Philip Cowan Film maker and Professor of International Film School from Newport University Wales was invited by Prof. Sandeep Marwah for a meticulous interaction session with the Post Graduation students. The first week of the session integrated the exchange of ideas between cinema of U.K. and cinema of India, which was conversant for not only the students but also for the professor himself.The second week of session was mainly into studying cinematography as Prof. Philip Cowan is a connoisseur at this subject. Welsh Film Students visit AAFT under INDO-WALES First Exchange |
The first ever Indo-Wales film student exchange program was completed with Asian Academy of Film and Television (AAFT) to gain first hand experience of India’s dynamic film industry. The students from Wales who attended this first exchange were: Vivien Muller Rommel, Producer, Paul Allen, Writer-Director, Nick Booth, Cinematographer, Benjamin Brundle, Sound Recordist, Sam Bees, Lead actor representing University of Gilamorgan, Newport University and Royal welsh Institute. Being their first visit to India all the five students were enthralled by the beauty and Culture of India. They exclaimed that India was even more beautiful that what they have read and known about. Their appreciation and fondness for the country’s culture could be seen in the 10 mins Film “INDIAN BOYO” which was made along with the support of AAFTians Amit Malhotra, Anuj Gera, Sidharth Tiwari as Assistant Directors and Sumit,as an Actor in the film. An afternoon in the premises of Marwah studios looked back into.The times of The Father Of the Nation “Mahatma Gandhi”. The Director of the film Gandhi My Father, Feroz Abbas Khan’s visit brought out the patriotic feeling in the students of ASMS and AAFT. The interaction session saw the enthusiasm and zest of the students for their country and its history. The discussion went about for an hour popping out many interesting questions from students. Feroz Abbas Khan shared his experience and also his research work with the students. The Programme, which saw the Bollywood biggies like Anupam Kher, Om Puri , Renowned Film director Rahul Rawail and the stunning siren Rakhi saawant with producer Rohit kumar, was organized to have an Interactive session with students of AAFT & ASMS. The campus grounds were flooded with media; all the channels were striving hard just to get a glimpse of the stars. Not to the overlook, the students of AAFT & ASMS were overwhelmed by having a face to face discussion with the stars. The stars had a detailed discussion with the students as to how film industry works and they also talked about their upcoming film “Budha Mar Gaya”.The Director of AAFT & ASMS, Mr. Sandeep Marwah, said that it is very important for students to have an interaction with stars like this one so that they get a clear idea about the film industry and its norms and this is the reason AAFT have regular interactive sessions. |

Yash chopra productions bring yet another miraculous experience for the viewers with the heartthrob Shahrukh Khan, CHAKDE! India. Directed by Shimit Amin the film throws light into the life of the girl’s hockey team and its dedicated coach Shahrukh. Working hard towards making the movie a hit, amongst the crew, were two bright students of Asian School of media studies, Ambica Setia and Vikas Singh as Production Assistants. The pass outs of MA in Cinema were thrilled to work with the big banner and Shahrukh. Asian school of media studies congratulate and wish its students a very best for the future. |

| AAFT Hosts First Peru Film Festival on the eve of 186th Independence Day Anniversary of Peru. |
AAFT proudly hosted a splendor event in its campus on a recent weekend. The event was hosted to venerate 186th Anniversary of the Peru’s Independence by organizing a Peruvian Film Festival which showed some of the Award winning films like Dias De Santiago directed by Josue Mendez with Tinta Roja and Ojos Que No Ven. It is needless to say that AAFT provided the ideal ambience for the Festival. Making the event dazzling and vivacious The Director of AAFT Mr. Sandeep Marwah himself participated in the reverential event and proudly exclaimed that the event gave the trainees of AAFT and ASMS not only an exposure to the Peruvian art of film making but also inculcated in them the patriotic feeling by this gracious event.
The event saw who’s who of Delhi and NCR on this weekend .All the guests which included the Top media personalities, socialities and corporate biggies returned excited and stimulated.
The Acting Ambassador of Peru Carlos A. Irigoyen along with his better half thanked the organizers AAFT and Brandsmith for making the Anniversary such a grand event to remember.

| INAUGURAL FUNCTION OF 56TH BATCH |
AAFT inaugurated the 56th batch recently. The event began with the tradition of lighting the lamp and expressing gratitude towards the Deity. Despite the completion of the golden batch, the opening saw the same gusto as ever. The Director of AAFT, Mr. Sandeep Marwah, addressed the students along with the esteemed guests Mrs. Malti Sahai Adviser- Indira Gandhi centre for arts, Mr. Gurbeer S. Grewal renowned Film and T.V director and Mr. Anup Bhandari Chief Editor Magazine Models Trends. The guests appreciated Asian Academy of Film and Television for the awe-inspiring training it offers to its students and congratulated Mr. Sandeep Marwah for his never ending dedication towards the academy. The students were stimulated by the expressions of information spoken by Mr. Marwah and the faculty of the academy. |

| AAFT hosts meet to fight terrorism |
 Ek aur ek gyarah, an event aimed at uniting India through eliminating
terrorism was recently hosted by AAFT in its premises in association
with AB Fans Foundation, Mumbai. T he event took opportunity to pay
homage to the victims of last year's 7/11 serial train blasts in
Mumbai by observing two minutes silence in the beginning. Chairman of the AIATF, M S Bitta was the chief guest for the event
together with Col V N Thapar, Flt Lt J P Sharma and Smt Sudesh
Sharma, the proud parents of Noida's valiant martyrs Capt Vijayant
Thapar and Capt Shashi Kant Sharma, Irfan Khan, Prashant Mastan,
Shivanand Chand, Chief Advisory Committee, President and General
Secretary of the ABFF, as the other distinguished guests of honour. Addressing the audience, Shri Bitta exhorted upon the members present
to inculcate a spirit of patriotism in the younger generations of the
nation. Director AAFT/ASMS Prof Sandeep Marwah said that the cinema is
a potent medium for strengthening the spirit of patriotism in the
country and expressed full hope that his students shall utilize the
same for achieving the same.Others, who addressed the gathering
